Actual is an independent design company working at the intersection of product and sculpture. Our simple, elegant, andprovocative objects are developed by Josh Jakus, the California-based designer best known for his shape-shifting UM handbags.All Actual products are made in the USA (usually local to our studio in Oakland, CA) so that we can interact directly with our producers and maintain excellent quality. We operate as efficiently as possible out of necessity and use natural or recycled materials whenever we can.
